SKINCARE ESSENTIALS

First of all: sorry I can only manage one post a week at the moment, but I am truly packed with work!
Some of my lovely friends asked me about the absolute essentials in my routine and keep asking me "Do I really need this?". So whether you are just getting started, or have been a skincare-junkie for a while, or are not happy with your current routine and are looking for a way to jumpstart it: here are my personal essentials that I think everybody should have, to get the best skin they can!

REVIEW - The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

Ok, good things first: It is a rather affordable cleansing balm/butter and works great to remove all traces of make-up, sunscreen,... off your face, without leaving your skin tight. It feels lovely on skin and has an interesting consistency, as it melts in your fingers and on your face, it's fun to use and also ideal for a good face-massage. To my surprise it can be easily removed with a flannel in no time (no rubbing necessary), without leaving your skin dry, stripped, or tight and without a greasy residue, so definitely a good treat in the colder, drier winter-months!

Cleansing with oil

There are a few discoveries in your life, that can make things easier, better and all around more comfortable. Oil definitely is one of them. I won't be rambling on about the great world pleasure that is oil now, like I did to most of my friends for the past years and will be focusing on the benefits of cleansing with oil (as is this weeks focus on the blog). Yes, you heard me right: I do use oil to wash myself. And before you start running away, unfollowing me on all the social media pages and thinking "ooooohnooooo, this is a crazy person": hear me out!

REVIEW - La Roche-Posay Toleriane Dermo-Cleanser

First of all: I LOVE this cleanser! After years and years of using cleansers for "sensitive" skin (what a joke...), I was so amazed by a water-based cleanser that finally didn't leave my skin SUPER-tight. By that point I even thought that the tight feeling was just part of the game and kept wondering, why my dry patches, where my make-up likes to cling to (super-sexy), never got any better. So one day my pharmacist gave me a trial size of this lovey and I took it home to try it out a few weeks later.

THE BASICS - CLEANSING

This week we will be focusing on anything cleansing, starting with "The Basics of Cleansing". Be sure to leave your questions, suggestions,... in the comment section below!

Proper cleansing of your skin twice a day is the foundation of your skincare-routine and should be done every day, with no exceptions, no matter what your skin-type is like. It is also the part of skincare, where the very old, yet stubborn skincare-myths stick the most. So forget, what you have been told since you were a teen and started to cleanse your face, because it is probably wrong and weakening your skin. With a few simple adjustments in your cleansing routine though, I can promise you will never look back.
