SKINCARE ESSENTIALS

First of all: sorry I can only manage one post a week at the moment, but I am truly packed with work!
Some of my lovely friends asked me about the absolute essentials in my routine and keep asking me "Do I really need this?". So whether you are just getting started, or have been a skincare-junkie for a while, or are not happy with your current routine and are looking for a way to jumpstart it: here are my personal essentials that I think everybody should have, to get the best skin they can!

REVIEW - Clinique Super City Block SPF40

Everybody should be using a broad-spectrum sunscreen (UVA protection) EVERY day. Yes, even in the colder months, on rainy days and if you don't work outside. The reason for this are UVA rays. I will write a full-blown sunscreen-post in the future, but for now I will give you just the basics - once you get the principle, it is no rocket-science!

DIY Aloe Toner/Face-Mist

Oh I love myself a good, nice face-mist - no matter what season! In winter, when my skin is drier and I like to squeeze a hydrating layer in between my skin-care-steps, in summer, when I just like the cool, refreshing feeling of a face-spritz during the day!

SOS-Skincare Routine

Like everyone else, your skin needs a little gentle love sometimes. The SOS-Skincare is my go-to regimen, when my skin is irritated, angry, having a bad reaction to something I used, is tortured by extreme weather or I just want to give it a break and give it what it needs to work at its best again!

REVIEW - The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

Ok, good things first: It is a rather affordable cleansing balm/butter and works great to remove all traces of make-up, sunscreen,... off your face, without leaving your skin tight. It feels lovely on skin and has an interesting consistency, as it melts in your fingers and on your face, it's fun to use and also ideal for a good face-massage. To my surprise it can be easily removed with a flannel in no time (no rubbing necessary), without leaving your skin dry, stripped, or tight and without a greasy residue, so definitely a good treat in the colder, drier winter-months!

Cleansing with oil

There are a few discoveries in your life, that can make things easier, better and all around more comfortable. Oil definitely is one of them. I won't be rambling on about the great world pleasure that is oil now, like I did to most of my friends for the past years and will be focusing on the benefits of cleansing with oil (as is this weeks focus on the blog). Yes, you heard me right: I do use oil to wash myself. And before you start running away, unfollowing me on all the social media pages and thinking "ooooohnooooo, this is a crazy person": hear me out!

REVIEW - La Roche-Posay Toleriane Dermo-Cleanser

First of all: I LOVE this cleanser! After years and years of using cleansers for "sensitive" skin (what a joke...), I was so amazed by a water-based cleanser that finally didn't leave my skin SUPER-tight. By that point I even thought that the tight feeling was just part of the game and kept wondering, why my dry patches, where my make-up likes to cling to (super-sexy), never got any better. So one day my pharmacist gave me a trial size of this lovey and I took it home to try it out a few weeks later.
